I was seen by Dr Jan on 3 occasions; for a saline hysterosonogram, for Hysteroscopic surgery and a follow up hysterscopy. Dr Jan immediately makes you feel comfortable and takes the time to explain procedures to you. In the interim period between my saline hysterosonogram and my surgery (to remove a septum in my uterus and scar tissue - Ashermans) he responded to my queries about the surgery and alleviated any concerns that I had. Post surgery he took the time to explain what he had found, what had been done and the next steps. Our follow up appointment showed that surgery had been a success. I (and my husband) are grateful that he was recommended to us and that we were fortunate to be treated by such a competent surgeon who gives great patient care.

Dr. Jan performed laparoscopic sacrocolpopexy on me due to my advanced uterine prolapse. My consultations with him very thorough and informative and he filled me with confidence from the start. The operation was a success; the recovery was quick and I was able to get back to my active lifestyle with no issues. It has improved my self confidence massively after having two large babies and feeling like I lost my body for good. He is also personable and friendly, took away all the nervousness. Lovely doctor and incredibly talented!

I saw Mr Jan at Ashtead Hospital to discuss treatment options for recurring endometriosis, following two previous laparoscopies (not carried out by Mr Jan). Mr Jan was compassionate and understanding and clearly presented my options to me. He carried out a new procedure that he had created to not just carry out diathermy on the affected areas but also to excise what was there so that endometriosis did not recur in those areas. He explained the procedure in detail and was clear that there was still a chance it could return to other areas. The procedure was successful and after the surgery he talked me through what had been found and what work had been done. His work was excellent; there has been minimal scarring and I am very pleased with the results to date.

I had to see Mr Jan for a second ERCP following a failed pregnancy. (The first ERCP, which wasn't under Mr Jan, hadn't worked.) He dealt with the situation with compassion and sensitivity, effectively resolving the problem while also resecting a calcified fibroid which had caused problems after my first born. I can't thank Mr Jan enough, I hope our paths cross again in the Obstetric world!
